Jaeger Take in the lush Alaskan summer in Denali National Park, where resident species such as Willow Ptarmigan, Boreal Chickadees and Northern Goshawks mingle with more than 160 migratory birds from every continent, including the Gyrfalcon, Long-tailed Jaeger, Northern Wheatear, Lesser Yellowlegs and the highest-known density of nesting Golden Eagles in North America. Amid continuous daylight, encounter this fantastic diversity of species on expeditions to taiga, tundra, riparian and mountain habitats, and learn about the astonishing annual journeys that these birds make to Alaska in an evening with acclaimed author Scott Weidensaul. Investigate adaptations of resident birds to subarctic winters at the Alaska Bird Observatory banding station in Fairbanks, spend a night in a small wilderness lodge near Wonder Lake and more.
